ABOUT US

Welcome to Channel 5, WAVE

Greenville Public Access Television (GPAT) was founded in 2001 with the help of community volunteers in partnership with the City of Greenville and Time Warner Cable.  GPAT is governed by a local board on a volunteer basis.

Greenville Public Access Television broadcasts to Greenville and the Darke County community through Time Warner Cable, CH.5.  GPAT Wave Channel 5 is a division of the City of Greenville, working in partnership with Greenville City Schools.   The station’s programming is controlled by the Interactive Media (IMTV) career technical class of Greenville Senior High School.  IMTV produces programming for Greenville Senior High school covering extracurricular and co-curricular organizations’ special events, classroom and assembly footage, Board of Education meetings, and other school related content.  School cancellations due to inclement weather or other reasons are also broadcast on this channel. All original programs are produced by students, allowing them the opportunity to develop the skills they need to succeed in the field of interactive media, film and television.

Citizens living in GPAT’s coverage area are allowed to create their own programming through the station’s television studio.  Working through the IMTV studio, citizens are given the opportunity to use GPAT equipment to produce programming once certified.
